at the community level. The event will feature many activities including presentations,

1913 Days is an annual celebration of Sylvan Lake’s birthday. On December 30, 1912,
Sylvan Lake was recognized as a municipality by the Province of Alberta. Becoming
a municipality meant that Sylvan Lake could elect its own Mayor and Council and
on January 29, 1913, Sylvan Lake held its first official village Council meeting.
1913 Days is a chance for Sylvan Lake residents to celebrate the Town’s rich history
and enjoy a weekend of fun for the whole family. Grab a hot dog and ice cream as
you cheer on the parade or tune-in to an old-fashioned drive-in movie. There are
so many ways to enjoy 1913 Days!
When: March of each year (keep checking back for our 2012 dates!)
Where: On the lake! (Entrance at 50th Street and Lakeshore Drive)
